Snow Days

This Storm Emma really has paralysed the whole country and I haven’t been able to get to work for two days because there were no buses running due to the severe weather. It’s really frustrating because I’ve started a new job and I don’t like that I’m missing it. However, I spoke to our department manager who told me that no one from Kellogg’s has come in. That was comforting since I now know I’m not really missing anything.

So what to do with the sudden days off? Well, yesterday I was a couch potato and just watched Netflix pretty much the whole day. I did drag my arse to the gym which I have to pat myself on the back for! But while walking to the gym I didn’t think the weather was THAT bad! I mean, it’s nothing more than what we’re used to back home (but more on that in my next post).

But today I’ve been much more productive! I’ve spent the day reading and finishing my book (I’m currently reading all the Harry Potter books), I’ve been doing some writing and editing, and I went to the gym for 1 h power walk on the treadmill. That last one was oh-so-boring but when one has to exercise but can’t outside...

The weather is still pretty bad: it’s snowing a lot and the wind is gross. But again, nothing worse than what we’re used to I Sweden!

I also went into Sainsbury’s on my way home from the gym yesterday and it looked like the apocalypse was upon us. Pretty much all the shelves were cleared and there was no bread, no milk, no ready meals, and hardly any vegetables. It’s like people were expecting to be snowed in for months. Hilarious!

The weather is finally starting to let up, and the buses started going again this afternoon, so perhaps we’ll survive, after all!
