I can't believe I have been in Portugal for a week already! That means it's a week since I left Thailand... wow how time flies! And yet pretty much all I have done this week is chill with my parents and eat. I have had really bad jet lag so there has been little or no energy for any activities that take more effort than walking for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time. But it's been nice to take it easy and kind of give my body a chance to adjust to the new one zone... and the colder weather. And eating is my favourite activity! Especially when the god is healthy, tasty and served in the sun, like it was yesterday.

Today we decided to (or I asked and my parents agreed) go all Swedish for lunch, so we went to IKEA to have Swedish meatballs and my favourite cake: Almondy Dajm (and the toasted almond version that is my mum's favourite)! OMNOMNOM!! It was the first time I've been to IKEA in ages - years since I last ate there - so I was about as excited as a child! And of course the food was ace! I mean, how could it not be?!

The other night we also had a kind of dinner that I think it kind of traditional Swedish, but at least a traditional thing for my family: prawns. Some of you may have heard of the Swedish holiday we celebrate in September where we put on funny hats and eat crayfish? Google "kräftskiva" if you haven't to find out what it is. Here's a picture of it, stolen form Google:

This is similar, but simpler and with prawns. We had the prawns with bread and an improvised version of the traditional mustard and dill sauce. Very tasty and felt like home!

Other than that my parents have just showed me a bit of Estoril and Cascais. That is when we haven't been in front of the TV watching Suits - my parents were a season behind so had them watch it quickly so we could get to the new season - or just chilling at the house.

This chilled time has given me a lot of time to think, and it's made me realise that I'm not ready to settle into an office job yet, and that I want to travel more! I need to see the world before I settle down! So I've started looking at where I can go next and how I can sort everything to make it happen. I need to find a place for my stuff, for one, and decide when to go, for another. But I'll sort all that! Stay tuned...

In other news my dog got attacked by a golden retriever when I was out for a walk with her this evening. The thing came out of the dark and jumped her and bit her, in a clear display of dominance, whereupon I panicked and screamed and kicked at the dog before its owner came and pulled it away. The owner then apologised and I just stared at him (mainly because he apologised in Portuguese and I didn't know how to respond) and walked away absolutely raging! When I was far enough away from the animal and its idiot owner I made sure Raffa was ok, which she was thank god! Would've gone back and shot the dog and punched its owner if my prescious baby had been hurt!
