So, today was the first proper day of my Thailand Adventure program and we got a lot done today!

Breakfast was served at 8 am, which was a bit of a struggle to get up for, since I didn't get much sleep last night due to jet lag. And at like 5:45 am some EXTREMELY loud radio started sounding out in the entire neighbourhood and didn't stop until it was time for breakfast basically. Apparently that happens every morning so I'll definitely continue with my earplugs!
After breakfast there was an introduction meeting where we got the week explained to us in detail. And then we were off!

We started off by walking to the nearby little village (about a 10 minute walk) to buy some necessities like adaptors or mosquito repellent. Then we got on the back of a same type truck as yesterday and went into Singburi, where we had a quick look in the big shopping mall and the market. This was where we could buy stuff like peanut butter or designer clothes, if we so desired.
After that we went for lunch at this beautiful place:

After lunch we went to the largest sitting Buddha statue in Thailand (7th largest statue in the world), including the temple, and then we went back to The Twin House (where we're staying) and learned some basic Thai phrases, plus the do's and don't's in Thailand. This was followed by dinner, after which a few of us borrowed some bikes and went to the local shop to buy some stuff.

The whole day was wrapped up with a dance performance from one of the local schools.

All in all, it has been an amazing first day! Now I'm going to shower, because I'm disgusting, and join the others at the bar across the road. I can't wait for what tomorrow will bring!!
