It's getting there

I have sorted pretty much everything I need to get organised before I head off on my travels. I had a long list of what I needed to do to prepare myself, plus stuff that I needed to organise with the flat. I needed to sort my council tax, cancel the wifi subscription at the flat, sort out the bills and let the company know we're moving out, and change my address at the bank etc. I have gotten all this stuff done so now I just have to cancel my gym subscription, and take the final meter reading at the flai, both of which I will be doing right before I leave.

To think that when I got back to Aberdeen after Christmas, I was so worried and sad because I had nothing sorted and didn't even know where I would stay for the next few weeks, let alone where to put my stuff while I'm away! I had heels of stuff I needed to buy and it all seemed like a massive mountain towering over me, making me want to pack up and run away back to Sweden and hide with my parents. Except they sold the house and moved to Portugal so I didn't have a house to run back to.

But it all got sorted, one thing at a time, and it turns out that as usual my mum was right when saying "det löser sig!" (Swedish for 'it'll all work out'), like she always is. It feels good to have pretty much everything sorted. I have found somewhere to put my stuff while I'm away, and my lovely friend to drive it all over. I have had a guy come and pick up aaaaaall the stuff I was giving away to charity (like 80% of my stuff) and I've bought everything I need, plus I'm pretty much done packing. Although to be honest I have pretty much been living out of a suitcase for the past weeks since I didn't know how long I would be allowed to stay in the flat, haha.

But yeah, slowly but surely I have sorted everything and now I only have a couple minimal things to take care of. I can't believe I leave in three days!! It feels so surreal, and oh so exciting!!
