Even gravity can't keep me down

Just finished a very long, but very good shift at work! I started at 6 am so I had to get up at 4:30 this morning!! "Oh my god that's so shite, I could never do that!" have been some of the comments I've generally gotten when taking about the 6 am start, but I don't mind it really. I like getting up early and setting an alarm, probably because I haven't had that routine for a while, at least not properly. And I actually love getting up when it's still dark out because it reminds me of Christmas. I'm not completely sure why, but it's probably because it takes me back to when I was in high school, and during winter time had to get up when it was dark out, and I would sit there and have my breakfast with the cosy lighting on, watching TV before starting my day. I just think it's cosy and I enjoy how peaceful it is to sit there alone while watching Nyhetsmorgon (the Swedish version of BBC Breakfast). You can only watch it until 8 am on weekdays, because it's broadcasted live and ends at 9 am Swedish time. So the only time I can catch it is early in the morning.
Anyway, my shift at work was very long, but great since we all have a good time and everyone's a good laugh. Especially one guy David is one of the funniest people I've ever met and he had me in stitches for most of the time. I also got into the routine properly and felt I did a pretty good job! This is something that a couple others also told me, which made me feel pretty good about myself. I like challenging myself and get rewarded for it. Then I stayed an extra hour, because they didn't have enough people on the fry station, so I offered to jump in and help for a few extra hours. This made my managers very happy, and it felt great to be able to help them.
So I jumped on fries right as the evening rush started and I just had to learn VERY quickly how it was done. I didn't have a f***ing clue what I was doing at first, but I picked it up quite quickly, and was told both by the other fry guy and one of the trainers that I did a good job. Once again I I challenged myself and got rewarded for it. It's just amazing to finally feel like I'm doing something productive, and to have a job I actually care about! Since I graduated, I've spent most of my time just wasting away at a job I didn't care about, and not doing much worth mentioning outside of that.
So yeah, I've had a great day (couple weeks actually) and I hope it continues this way! But now I need to try and wind down from this hyper-ness so I get sleepy in time for my bedtime, which is in... like 20 minutes haha! Got another 6 am start tomorrow, but I don't think I'll sleep before 10 anyway. Ah well, it's all good!!
