Dolce far niente (the sweetness of doing nothing)

Today I have spent all day doing sweet fuck all. I mean I actually haven't done anything productive at all, and it's been great. And I really needed it as well after how productive yesterday was.
Yesterday, I went to the gym and did a tough workout, and then I went to work for an 11 hour shift. Since yesterday was the official opening day for Five Guys, it was pretty damn busy. So busy that I don't actually have a clue how many people were in the restaurant most of the time because I was so busy dressing 4-5 orders at a time. But when I did look up it was packed with people waiting for their orders. It was very intense and pretty stressful, dressing ticket after ticket constantly for about three hours, but it made time fly by because all of a sudden it was time for me to go on my break and I'd been working for five hours!! Absolutely mental. And the cleaning, as usual, was hard work and took hours, but it was a good laugh. So yeah, I still love working at Five Guys!
However, I finished at 3 am and didn't get to sleep until half 4, then woke up at half 10, shattered because my stupid body never lets me sleep enough when I go to bed late. Meh...
So today I decided to just not do anything I don't feel like doing (productive things) so I've just spent all day in my bed watching films, apart from my short trip to Holland & Barrett to buy a Quest Bar to snack on. And you know what? It's been great! We all need the balence of both productive and nonproductive days in our lives! So despite feeling I should get to some things I need to do, I am going to continue this day in the same unproductive manner. I'll compensate tomorrow. Coz I mean, look how cosy my bed is :-)
