Thank you for the music

It’s amazing what a song can do for your mood. It can make you sad, even if you were happy when it came on, or it can take your sadness, and simply lift it away.
Today I’ve had one of those mornings. You know, when you get up and it feels like you’re walking in mud, you look in the mirror and wonder who that pale whale is, and why she’s staring back at you with those puffy and tired eyes. No clothes fit well and you just want to go back to bed and sleep for eternity. You know what I’m talking about, right?
I get these kinds of mornings every once in a while, but extra bad at this time of the month. Oh yes, it is when my PMS is acting up and I have hormones fighting with me. And it’s gotten worse since I got older. Oh joy.
Anywhoooo, I am currently walking to work (the whole one hour trek of it, which I then repeat when I go home from work, 6 miles in total) as I do everyday because I cannae afford a bus pass, and I felt like just sitting down on the pavement and cry. But then I decided that music was what I needed, so I opened Spotify and my personal Mood Booster playlist, which contains all the songs that make me feel happy. First song that came on was Try Everything by Shakira, which reminds me of Zootopia - one of the best Disney films ever - and also has lyrics about never giving up. And what do you know, suddenly I feel lighter and more motivated to face the day.
As I’ve been writing this post, more mood boosting tunes have blasted through my earphones, lifting my mood. It’s amazing what a little music can do! What would the world be without music? Thank the Lord for music!!!
